As usual our travel group was keen after a wonderful trip to Karnvashram and finally all of us could find a common free weekend to skip to some new destination
This time we came up with‘Camp Purple’ in the midst of Hills from where there was a promise of spectacular view of Himalayas, but unfortunately they were occupied by school kids in that weekend
Finally after searching and Full boards, the KVN guest house guy suggested us ‘Mukteshwar Himalayan Resort’ as a good option. Since it does not have online booking facility, rooms were vacant, we settled for it (1400/- for deluxe two bedroom, decent enough).
Now came the choice of going by train or Enova …hmm lets see….7 hrs train journey would give some people the choice to relax and sleep if they required and leave the rest to enjoy ….okies..So we went to irctc and booked waiting list tickets (sleeper 149/-) in the hope of getting them confirmed by the time we board the chuchuk chuchuk
On Friday, 6.30 pm with all the optimism in our heart and a promise from a friend to get a confirmed reservation through backdoor, we checked and came to know our list was still waiting …awesome…so the backdoor had not opened for us …..:(….but we had to go …all of us had to gather at the stunning (hmm) old Delhi railway station for the 10.40 Ranikhet express ….My boss somehow came to know about the trip, he made sure I get all the work at the last moment …he kept calling for something or the other till 8.30 pm …..Finally after having a narrow escape from him, we started from Faridabad to station at 9.10 pm ….cab wala anticipated 2 hrs min...with the wonderful traffic of Delhi….we had lost all the hope of catching the Rani …but still thought of going there and from there planed to spend the night on bus stand and take the first bus to Kathogadam in morning, the cab driver might have got the urgency of the situation and turned the Indica into a literal JET Plan and landed us in old Delhi station at 10.20 pm …..it was like a matter of life and death ….offff…we won the first battle …now ready for the second one…..
On the station located the TT first and after talking to him, took the first bogie in front of us …and got the benefit of the enjoying the view from toilet side gates…..ok so we were prepared for a fantastic trip ahead……after some time a friend started conversing in their regional language with an aunty sitting on the side berth …..knockout …..here we got a seat to sit …good job lady!!! Now came the job of keeping an eye on the tt and make him feel we are the most needy in this world….the abala nari and the sabla males were after him making him feel we were the most bechara mortals in this world……after 3 hrs (of the 7 hrs trip) …we made him come to a deal of 450/- for 3 seats …..great job …we could at least share and not beg other decent passengers to give us space to sit….same was the case while coming back ….so now lets straight away jump to the Kathogadam station in morning.
We were told by the hotel manager to bargain and take the Sumo in 1100/- to Mukteshwar…so we did …..there was an SBI atm at the station which saved our gold rings, watches to be sold... (we had not carried cash)….as soon as the vehicle touched the road, it started with full speed...could have given a heart stroke to the weaker section ….but the view that was now spread across us was breathtaking and worth taking pain in all the adventurous journey ……
When we started from Kathgodam …..on the curves of the beautiful mountains...it was a breathtaking view....looking down in the valley made some butterflies dance in my stomach ...a never ending smile automatically came on the face and the eyes were getting such a delightful view that I was not ready to miss out a single moment...
Bheemtal, Side view of Nanital, Pine tress, wild flowers and there magical fragrance...All greeting us to the Mountains with open arms!! As if saying ....come and embrace me with all your might ...take a dip in my beauty and get refreshed ...and relaxed ...you will get calm and coolness in me....Come and join me....Njoy!!
